Bankruptcy deadline...June 1st... TPW....June 1st :(
I have read that it is very very likely...almost 70% that GM will file for bankruptcy on the deadline of June 1st. Some evidence for this probable move was that they changed the date to pay their suppliers from June 2nd to May 28th. All the cars that were already produced will still be able to be delivered, but camaro production would stop for a short period of time as the company is restructured. I'm just hoping that mine hits the production line early in the morning June 1st before they, scratch that, IF they file. Yeah, that's not going to happen.

They have to file, all the top executives sold off their stock last week, they will be ordered to stop new production until a net inventory can be calculated...

does anybody know how long the net inventory will take to be calculated.... im going to cry i was supposed to get my car in the middle/end of june

I heard the local dealer here already had an independent audit done, like when they have people running around in a home depot counting everything ,so maybe even before June 1st...

IF Camaro production is halted, I will cancel my order and just wait till next year.
I hope this is not the case, I jsut read that the Oshawa line is scheduled to go to 6 day work weeks starting June 1.... |

The deadline for an agreement between all parties involved is June 1st. I don't think that means bankruptcy will be filed that day but if there is no agreement, it would be soon thereafter.
I don't know how production could not stop at that point, at least for a short period of time. If someone can clarify this or knows the real deal, I'm all ears.

I wouldn't think it would be GM's decision to halt production temporarily. But, I would think their suppliers could kind of force thier hands....
I don't know, I guess we'll see.......
