I remember watching some videos about how the zl1 was being tested extensively in the wind tunnel. They believed that they needed to increase its drag coef and created more downforce. They re worked the front fascia to allow this. I believe that's why the lower part of the grill is larger as well as why there are good vents. I am no expert but it may have been enough to relieve te stress from those weaker areas of the front fascia.

So . . . . . . That's what bugs hitting the car at 200 MPH look like!

I don't doubt the fact that it will do it I just question the fact that anybody will use it. it does not have enough power to get there on a strait away of a road coarse. It won't do it in mile like some of the event you can go to. I is alot like my Z06 in that it could theoretically get there but you need the right circumstances. that is very fast for an uncontrolled enviroment. Its weight and aero work against it so will not pull to 200 as fast as a Zr1 and am sure the majority of zr1 owners have not hit 200.

[QUOTE=Ringo64;4893997]Oh you don't even want to see pics from my DD when it's love-bug season down here. If you go on the highway you're bound to get a million bugs on your front end. Worst part is washing them off, little buggers will ruin your paint if you don't get them off quickly enough.
We used to spray "Pam" cooking spray on the front bumper/grille in order to keep the love-bug juices off the paint and to ease the clean up. Those bugs have some very corrosive residue. May and Sep were nasty months to drive. |

I just enjoy open discussion, and will occasionally play devil's advocate. Keeps me occupied while I wait for my ZL1 to get built. Last edited by KKreme15; 05-01-2012 at 12:36 PM. |
