Has anyone ever regretted installing their MGW Short Throw?
Getting closer to pulling the trigger on a MGW short throw shifter. It appears to be the best choice out of them all since it replaces the whole shift assembly instead of just the rod.
My dad, though, seems to think the short throw shifter is a horrible idea and has been really trying to talk me out of it. "I don't know why you would do that on your daily driver." "Why don't you find a car that has one first so you know what you're getting into" "I can understand doing it if it's going to be a show car, but not if it's a daily driver" (I don't even understand his logic on that one) etc etc. Frankly, I'm not sure why... probably because he doesn't want to have to help me with the install. So that said - has anyone regretted doing the short throw shifter? Anything I should be aware of? This is my first manual transmission car that I've owned and I like the idea of the throws being shorter, but otherwise I'm not sure if there's any negative reasons why I shouldn't do it? Is it overrated? Should I spend my money elsewhere? I wouldn't mind doing HIDs, but between the two I think the short throw shifter would get me the most "noticeable" difference since this car is my daily driver to and from work. Tips, advise, etc appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have he MGW on my daily driver. No complaints here. Only took a couple of hours to install. I am going on one year with it now and I love it. Great mod for the price!

Have one. Isn't my daily driver but that wouldn't change anything for me. Great mod. You will love it.

I have yet to see anyone on the forum complain about the MGW shifter. It's on my list when I get my Camaro.

Had mine for awhile now, Love it! I got chance to sit in a 1LE at the Chicago car show to see how my MGW felt compared to the shifter in that car? The MGW in mine feels alot better! The throws feel shorter and the shift action is more solid and precise! The only thing I liked better in the 1LE, was the shift knob.

Awesome - glad to hear you guys are liking it. I've been wanting to do a short throw since I got the car in 2011 but I finally got the "green light" from the wifey :lolsign:

10 months and 5000 miles on mine - one of my favorite mods. Have yet to miss a shift during spirited driving - can't say that for the stock shifter.

Yeah. I just figured maybe his elder wisdom knew something I didn't. Definitely going to move forward with getting one once the funds are available.

I loved mine. One of the top mods. When I went back to stock after thousands of miles with the MGW, I was able to appreciate even more how great it was.
