I'm the same way. Traded in a high mpg car for my SS.
I'm currently burning the gas that I saved up for the last 3 years.
I'm happy to spend the money. I'm paying a premium to be smiling and happy. Its cheaper than a mistress.

Besides, I have a cop out. I've got two motocycles and one of them gets 45mpg. I can cheapen the load on my wallet if I have to.

Re-read what he wrote. It was a poor choice of thread title. He was being sarcastic and essentially he's saying "Gas prices went up and I bought a car with worse gas mileage because it means more to me than paying extra at the pump"

Larry, congrats on upgrading your car to the SS. I totally understand the preference for the V8 sound. Enjoy. I'm going from a V6 Infiniti Coupe that uses premium and only gets around 17 or so to an SS so I expect the mileage should be pretty much a wash. The sound and power is worth it.
