Kit Car?
I used to wrench on cars when I was young. Now that the kids are grown I ordered the SS I wanted and as much fun as I am having with driving the car I still miss the nostalgia and wrenching. I am thinking of doing a kit car like a factory five 33 or something. Anyone on here do a kit car?
I get big grins driving the SS but still miss the garage late night wrenching and the electronics on these cars drives an old guy nuts. |

Pick up a classic and work on restoring it. I've done it to a number of them and have a number of them now. Yes, we get lots of attention for driving our Camaro's, but man you ought to see it when you're in a nice classic muscle that is perfect. Plus, it's wrench turning stuff you can do in the garage without having to book up a computer.

I kept my first car for the last 35 years for that 'hands on' experience.

It wasn't a true kit car......more like a total body make over.....I have always loved hotrods......I also had a love of VW's....and although I couldn't afford a true hotrod....I compromised and built this. Actually got it in the very first Readers Rides section of Hot Rod magazine.....and a number of VW publications. Believe it or not....that once was a 1970 VW Bug.

I've been wanting to build a 1934 Ford 3 Window like the picture I have below, but stuff in a vintage 392 Hemi or big block chevy possibly blown. A real bare bones no frill hot rod with an insane engine. Takes quite a bit of cash to build what I'm thinking. I really like the 60's vintage drag racing stuff, especially sling shot dragsters that would be part of the look for the car.

I have a friend that built a Ferrari Daytona Spyder. Looks just like the original car from Miami Vice. Very sharp.
