New wheels malfunction?

Today i put on the 21 inch gm option which i purchased off another member. I drove it for a while with not problems and after a while the service tire pressure monitoring system light came on. How should i go about this? I think i have to go to the dealer and have the tpms either really serviced or have them learned for each wheel. Does service charge for that? If so what can i expect to pay

I had the same thing come up after taking delivery of the car, and they serviced it for no charge. Not sure if your dealer would charge or not, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Sounds like the TPMS needs to be reset. If you are one who likes to tinker with cars, you can easily do that yourself. Just scroll the DIC to display tire pressures. Then press and hold the end button in the turn signal handle, just as if you were resetting your trip odo. After 3 seconds you should see a prompt asking if you wish to relearn. Scroll and enter yes.

The horn will briefly sound twice to let you know the learning period has started. Beginning with the front driver side tire, either add or remove air for around 5-7 seconds or so. It should be long enough for the monitor to detect a change in pressure - the horn will chirp when the tire's position is learned.

Then proceed to the front passenger, rear passenger, then finish with the rear driver side tire.

Should do the trick for ya.

Is your TPMS service light coming on, too?
