Something about flashing the converter (similar to how scrming has described it in the past) is better than running the rpms up.

So although I'm speaking a bit vague here, and by no means an expert in this subject, I sometimes wonder if the auto simply should just launched from near idle no matter what? Maybe holding the RPMs up and releasing the brakes results in a slow engagement of the transmission.

Of course, I'm talking about a stock transmission and not something like Gretchen is running which engages at a much higher rpm.
Yep, always got my best time by "flashing" the converter... basically just above idle, maybe 1000 RPM... left foot on the brake, right on the gas... when it's time to go, let off the brake and slap the gas at the same time.... Worked much better than stalling the converter up...

As for tires, i went from the stock Pirelli summer tires to Nitto 555rs... really didn't make difference... key is getting some heat into the Pirellis... they like a good burnout, not just a quick clean off spin...

Maybe I can ask my noob question here; as a A6 V6 owner, I'm pretty limited in upgrades as I've done pretty much all of the basics minus suspension. My friend says I should get an aluminum one piece driveshaft and better gears, but I don't quite understand how they work [for the lack of a better word] with each other. If I were to get better gears, I would assume I need the LSD and the driveshaft off an M6/SS, right? Should I just buy something like this and swap it for mine:

Or can I go ahead with the drive shaft upgrade, then have the gears and LSD without swapping out some major stuff. Or will upgraded gears require a new drive shaft?

Depends on what you are looking to do.

If you want a differant gear ratio like 3.73 then a swap is necessary.

The stock V6 auto rear is 3.27 and can accept a 3.55 gear. But almost no worth the time and money.

If you feel you need LSD, then a swap is necessary.

An aluminum one piece drive shaft would be great, be again not necessary unless you are planning to do some real racing and have almost everything else. There are better things to spend that kind of cash for improvements for your Camaro.

All of the above is my opinion. Your ride, your cash, you do what you FEEL is right for you.
