That is going to need some minor welding.

If I am not mistaken that is the current status of gbrilliantQ's build.
My first correspondence with Chris didn't rub me the right way so I stopped it before any money was spent.

I had inquired at a twin turbo 427 complete build. His estimate for an engine build did not include rockers, pushrods, cam, intake or headers. He was planning on using the lsx dr heads which 1 were not fully released at the time and 2 require a custom intake or the lsx dr intake, also require custom welded headers as it is a different exhaust port shape that no manufacturer at the time made headers for.

Op is misleading. With proper ventilation from crank case to atmosphere this will not happen.

Nothing wrong with the turbo piping design, etc. Good Comp turbo....but builder decided they did not need proper crankcase evacuation and deleted the catchcan system and the PCV system. Crankcase pressure pushed enough oil past the rings that the front cylinders hydrolocked and destroyed everything....not even the oil pan is salvagable.

Cannot stress enough how important it is to have the correct designed oil separating evacuation system, and not a band-aid "it's good enough" like we see far to often.
I tend to like your tech articles, but I highly double improper crankcase ventilation was the sole cause of the engine failing that catastrophically. There have to be other contributing factors.

With high hp builds, there is more at stake than just keeping the intake clean. This can happen.

I'm sure it can happen, but it shouldn't happen on a properly built motor. Although I have no background or no idea on what happened or the power output.
