catalytic converter blew! SOLO performance?
Hello, I had one of my stock catalytic converter blow up on me & it's giving out this nasty loud rattling noise and it gets louder as the rpms rise, I'm thinking of going Solo performance high flow cats but I dont think that'll pass Cali smog checks in a few months when I upgrade to an SS, should I go high flow? any good reviews? Bad reviews? Thank you!

Phastek performance only carries Solo high flows, seems like it's the only company that makes them in the aftermarket, I called my local Chevy dealer in the Bay Area the stock one Cat (as the Camaro has 2) is 800 & installation is 300 lol the Solo performance come with 2 Cats for 800 and installation is 250 at the nearest Midas, but the aftermarket cats the dealer said 80% chance will not pass Cali smog, major dilemma, as my car sounds nasty

Solos are good and will allow you to pass emissions. It also has hookups for all 4 o2 sensors. If you just straight pipe your car will throw a code and require a tune to get rid of it. If you plan on forced induction, stick with the stock cats because they stand up to the added heat from turbos and super chargers

If you're trading the car in why not buy a set of used cats, then move up to the SS.

Also, can do the install yourself in a couple hours. As long as you have a way to get under the car comfortably.

Looks like GM is taking care of everything at zero cost since my car is 5,000 miles away from losing it's warranty, saved me over a grand
