Yep... Torque wins races....
My friends 2008 GT has 300HP compared to my 304HP and his car is over a full second faster in 1/4 mile...

Love my wifes v-6 great daily driver, just no speed demon. People have nothing but good things to say about it even though it's only a v-6. It's funny when she drives it people just say about the looks. When I have it out to get gas for her I get asked about the motor.

depending on the six (3.4 or 3.8) they were around 16 - 17 second cars.

What i don't get is this - why do people think any car that does 0-60 around 6 seconds slow?? or mid 14's stock?

with CAI & headers & CATS, you're looking at around 5.5 to 60 and low, low 14 second quarters. not too bad while getting 28 mpg on the road. (and cheaper insurance) The LLT has more power & almost as much torque as my former Caddy with Northstar V*..with 2 less cylinders. Those Northstars pulled pretty good.

I have no problem bragging about the LLT I do wish it was 200 - 300 lbs lighter.

Besides, there is always a faster car.

Pretty sure the 3.8s, especially with a manual were mid 15 second cars (I should know i own one). It took a full compliment of bolt ons to get the car to high 14s.

The new v6 is no slouch for sure, it's also no v8...all depends on what you're looking for. Love my 6.

some guy: "Hey, what's in it"
me: "304HP"
SG: "Not bad. Not as much as the Challenger though!"
me: "Mine is a V6"
SG: "shit, 304HP from a V6... that's awesome man"

Its a fun car to drive, gets decent gas mileage (if you can keep your foot off the pedal... haven't mastered that one yet) and it looks great. That plus the excellent build quality is all I care about There will always be a faster car.

My neighbor who is an a-hole, and a blowhard idiot, started laughing when I mentioned I ordered my Camaro...his comments: "You bought a bitchin' Camaro? Are you growing a mullet too? Does it have the big screaming pigeon on the hood?"

What do you say to something that stupid? I just stared at him silently until he stopped laughing and started shifting uncomfortably when he realized not one person in the group was laughing with him.

Wow - What an A-Hole - Maybe you should ask him if he is ever going to stop being an A-hole. How about this - Go to a local proctologist office and get a few cards for those types - I crack myself up.

When asked what size engine I always respond with "a 304hp Direct Injection V6" - by the time they digest the 304 and Direct Injection they start asking questions about its performance and not that its a V6. Throw in that it gets 29mpg (or better) highway and the discussion typically turns to the styling which most enjoy.

We don't need to make any apologies or excuses for our LLTs.

I wouldn't concern myself with what other people think. The v-6 is a fine motor. I've entered my car in shows and most people have no clue what's under the hood. If they ask, I just run down the numbers on the LLT and explain that I don't need or would ever use the extra power the v-8 provides.

You can do alot with a base model to make it your own. ENJOY your Camaro.
