Long time reader, First time poster - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I deployed to Afghanistan last spring and I frequently find myself on the camaro5 website during my down time in order to help pass time. I recently went on leave and planned on ordering a 2SS/RS so I could receive it upon my return to the States. However, the Camaro Gods had a different plan for me.

I walked into Ed Bozarth Chevrolet and quickly noticed a fully loaded Inferno Orange 2SS/RS and was able to talk my way into taking it for a test drive. I really liked it but it had a few dealer options that I did not want to pay for such as the body kit, Hurst shifter, satin nickel gas cap, and painted engine cover. I told Dan, the salesmen, that I would be renting a camaro when I went to visit my girlfriend in Florida and would return the following Saturday to place my order.

When I returned to the dealer Dan the salesmen joking asked me if there was any way he could get me into the one I drove the previous week since it closely resembled the one I wanted to order. I said if there was a way to take the ground effects off I would buy it on the spot. Dan told me to take the Camaro out for about half an hour and then bring it back and by then he would know what we could do.

To my surprise when I came back they told me they would just take the cost of all the dealer options off of the vehicle and I would just pay the price of the 2SS/RS and I would be able to take home all of the dealer add-ons for no cost. For some reason the dealer was giving away a free recliners with every new vehicle purchase. So, I got a Camaro and a recliner. I think I got myself a pretty good deal.

Sadly, I am now back in Afghanistan but my car is being kept at a family friend's private garage that holds a collection of Porsches, Lamborghinis and other miscellaneous collector cars. So, I think my car is in good company.

I have an IOM white stripes . Thats not why I'm writting though . THANX for what your doing for all of us back here at home . I know how you must be feeling , in 68 I ordered a 69 Hugger Orange Z/28 and before delivery LBJ thought I should go to Southeast Asia and I never got my orange Camaro till last summer my wait was 41 years I Pray you get home real soon to enjoy yours . Keep your ass low and your head lower . BE SAFE
