I would be interested to see what would happen if you put regular oil in. But to be honest, is saving $35 really worth putting your SS on the line by putting regular oil in? I will never put in regular oil just to save $35.

On the SS, yes it is a requirement. I even think it reads Mobil one only.

That's pretty close to when your oil monitor system will tell you to change it.

If you tore down motors weekly like we do you would NEVER use conventional oil again. Tell your buddy to use it in his cars if he dosen't care for the best or longevity, but if you like your car full Syn only.

And I wouldn't wait 9k miles. My oil life meter reaches 0% in about 4-5k but I drive my car hard and I wouldn't wait any more than 5k. I'm changing my engine, trans, and diff oils today actually

I just had mine changed, $148!!!! I had them pour in 10w-30 Mobil 1 synthetic. I went with the 10w-30 because I felt it was safer due to my Procharger. One thing I couldn't understand is how an oil filter can cost $16!! Do I have to use the GM filter??

Listen to this guy because he knows what he's talking about! Once you understand the science of how they differ, you will never use conventional oil again! You will also kick yourself for not learning about the true advantages of full synthetic sooner!

My camaro is a 2011 and I was told that the Dexos 1 GM is now requiring is just as good as Mobil, is this true? I was also trying to figure out if the Dexos is a step above regular oil or a synthetic blend.

I use amsoil i sware by it. I don't even think Mobil 1 is fully synthetic anymore. I remember reading something about it. I think Amsoil and Redline are the only two that are full synthetics at this point.
