From what I heard, Cat Backs are better than Axle backs when it comes to performance but since you are buying headers with X pipe you should only pay attention to the width of the pipe connecting the X to the Axle as well as the quality of the material.

Headers+X pipe+ Axle back is the same combination as headers+Cat back because Cat back comes in 2 parts X pipe + Axle back and you will have both now.

in the gulf anything almost always voids warranty and you only have one/two dealers so your messed up basically...

but back to the main topic...

an axle back... almost no performance.. only sound... stock mufflers are straight through so you only gain from the slightly lighter weight... not from better exhaust.. (well maybe only a little bit - not worth the price)

if you want pure power.. the best would be long tube headers with high flow cats (so your car doesnt stink and you dont loose any hp if your car is tuned right) and an x pipe... I would only change axle back after doing that if i needed more sound..

next would be an intake... personally i like the ram intakes.. like vararam or my personal favorite New Era Performance...

then a cam would be good if you have a tuner who knows how to tune for cams,, they can add a lot of power or little depending on how aggressive they are and how good tune is...

When i mod i will do it in this order :

1)American Racing Headers Long tube 1 7/8 with high flo cats and x pipe
2)New Era CAI
3)if i still want sound - Borla ATAK
4)if one day i get another car and dont mind making the camaro rough.. a CAM
5)Finally for ultimate power a SC

and of course a good tune at each level..

now to answer your question... if you want power get the headers... ARH are best but expensive...and x pipe...

you wont loose power unless you tune it wrong..

any reasons for bbk? price ? power? value for money?

and are you talking about a v6 like yours or a v8 like q8 muscles has?

also which size headers are you referring to? Short/long? 1.75" 1.625?"

I cant find the thread now.. but there is one on here that shows that plastic isnt always best for heat..

metal intake tubes are much cooler than the plastic ones that come stock and other plastic ones..

if i find it again Ill post the link...

Guys is it really worth buying an intake anyway, I mean does it really add power in our weather.

I have K&N filter and you can feel slight improvement in gas consumption and throttle.

if you want power an intake is muuuch better than a catback...

best bolt on power is from headers with x pipe then intake then axel back

but best hp/$ is the intake cause they are only about $300-500
