Chrysler's going to make a t-diesel jeep!
Now as I was thinking about this vehicle, I've been watching tidbits from the Chrysler 5 year plan coverage and saw this:
"12:14PM Diesel Jeep Wrangler coming Q4 2010!" http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/04/l...5-year-busine/ This would be the perfect trail/crawler. Different target than the Raptor, but it would be awesome if they build up a t-diesel rubicon spec. |

Are they still going to drop the 4.6 liter diesel in the Silverado half-tons?

My magic 8ball says no, not now (to a_Username). However it's still in development. I think it's going to work for Jeep because they'll use an existing Fiat diesel engine.

That blows. That thing would be some type of monster if it makes it to production.

Don't take my word as gospel- it's just an educated guess.

Finally, something good comes out of Toledo aside from.. well the regular Wrangler.
Screw the Liberty mom-mobile. |

Sounds like a really good idea. I know Jeep enthusiasts have been asking for a diesel wrangler for quite a while

When the 4.5 diesel goes in the Silverado I will be first in line. Diesel in light trucks is the way to go, it's a win/win. More power with better efficiency. I thought Dodge was still going a head with the TD 1500 Ram for 2010, is that right?

It's not the fuel cost, it's the up front cost because they expect it to be between 3500 and 6000 more per vehicle on the sticker. I guess Jeeps are different because Jeeps sell all over the world and a diesel would make it more competitive everywhere else. |
