Everyone knows ...The wife is always right!!
This is why I hope it's optional and not standard. Then you get the way you want it and I can have it the way I want it.

Don't forget the 'STRIPPER POLE' and dollar bills!

You missed the matching alternate pattern of invert/overt on the horizontal bars which matches the lower grill exactly in the pictures of the yellow ZL1...though I still like this hood better if it had ram air in the front between the heat extractors...though it would do no good for heat extraction on a supercharger.

You are 100% right! In my haste to try to find that picture I knew I had, I missed the finer points until I was able to spend more time examining the yellow ZL1 better. Although it IS SIMILAR it is NOT the exact grill. As you stated the newer grill has the same indentions that the lower grill and real valence has. The horizontal bars that hold the bow tie seem a little bit heavier too. BUT, it seems to me to be the starting point from whence the new grill came from. I like it and it ties the whole car together.

Looks Awesome! I'll be ordering mine soon as I get my new house with a 3 car garage so I have room for both camaros. Hope they have it in ABM!

Originality. Its a proven fact that people will always pay more for originality.
No matter how you slice it, when you try to sell your ZL1 10 years down the road and it is painted Bright Blue Purple Metallic, they will be able to run the trim codes and see it was originally Victory Red.
You can bet everytime you are going to have to come WAY down on your selling price when all you would of had to do is keep the car original.

Just my two cents but I wish others would chime on this logic and I would like to hear professionals on this advice as well. It might make me wanna paint mine ABM after all. Its not a money issue with me at all.
Its a "Left the factory" this way issue with me when it comes to my ZL1.
If money is not an issue, then paint the car the way you really wanted it.
With today's production volume I highly doubt the new ZL1 will get the collector's car status like the 69 ones.

End of the day, the ZL1 is just a special edition volume production car.

Plus, while the 69 ZL1 seems like it's worth a lot today, you have to factor in the CPI numbers between 1969 and today, after you do that it really didn't appreciate that much.

If you are already planning on investing in your happiness by buying a 50K+ car, then why don't you invest a little more and make yourself real happy by having a dream car in a dream color?

Sometimes investing in your happiness is more important than investing in profit.

I want a ZL1 in Rally Yellow and some small cosmetic mods to make it more like the T3 movie car
(movie stripes in hydro carbon, hydro carbon for some of the body parts, Jay Leno hood, and a rear vent cut)

I will call it Super Bee
