VARARAM IN THE STANDING MILE UPDATE

OK... HERE IT IS....

Last October i ran my first Texas Mile.
This is a 1 mile closed course Airstrip.
last year I ran my 2010 Camaro SS/M6@ 158.1 MPH as it was purchased from the dealer...stock..with the exception of the GMPP Axle back made by Borla.

After that race, i was contacted by Vararam as they wanted me to try out the Tune version of their intake and the power wedge.
as i was already thinking of doing this i said SURE!

I already had a VMAX ported throttle body on the list along with a TED JANNETTY tune,So i pulled the trigger and made it happen.

Long story short this was the result:

Last year

And after the above mods:

Really good gains for a couple of bolt on's and a great tune.

So there you have it...
Also had it on a dyno the same morning 365/365.
Sorry i didn't baseline it before the mods, but it was off the floor stock except for the GMPP axle back.

Lots of tire spin through first and second, i gotta get that under control
fastest 1/2 mile MPH 139

I will post the dyno sheet and all time slips after i scan them off.
Thanks for reading.....

I wonder what you would have run with no mods, no tune and just the speed limiter removed. Probably not much less.

I have seen some copy the cai box to use in that space.

A catch can - It doesn't take up a lot of room but looks good there. Makes it easy to drain as well. My can uses the shock tower air box bracket as its attachment point.

BTW - congrats on the great run at the Texas mile. That had to be a real hoot of a good time!

On the first run last year it was on the stock tune correct? Isn't the stock tune's top speed limited at around 155? If so, do you think you could have gone faster last year on the stock tune if the limiter was turned off?

oh and ive been reading about otr intake setups and i was wondering if you had to tilt the radiator back for the vararam? a lot of people have said that otr usually requires the radiator to be tilted back.

With the vararam you do, I've had mine since 2010? And not a single issue ever.

Awesome post bud! Congrats!
