Could use one of those in California. It shouldn't be hard to convince the tree-huggers and the politicians who cater to their every whim that making a second plate is a horrible waste of energy and resources. Heck you can probably make an argument that front plates spoil aerodynamics and thus have a negative effect on fuel economy that really adds up when you consider all the cars on the road.

I didn't know that many people were upset about front license plates. I guess I'm lucky Oklahoma doesn't require front plates, or even inspections.

Good luck d00ds, do out of state signatures count?

Then their traffic light cameras can't get you. And it's an easy pretext stop for police. Plus states make a ton of money writing easy front plate fix-it tickets, more than enough to offset stamping more plates. In NJ, it used to be $50 or more, I think.

And if someone tries to pull a hit and run, it's easier to get their plates. I can sorta sympathize with that. Sorta.

I believe this was attempted a few years ago (about 8 I think) and the CHP fought it. The legislature in CA gives CHP and the correctional officers pretty much whatever they want. I believe part of the defense was to reduce car theft and to help with camera identification.

Signed it.
But, given that in the last two weeks the NY state legislature is in an historic pissing contest fighting over who's in charge and the govenor unable to get anyone to listen to him, NYers will be lucky to get anything meaningful done for months, especially since the legislature will soon be out for the summer....ah to be a politician!
