Would you buy an old Bondurant 1LE?

Hello gentlemen. Allow me to pick your brains

I missed out on getting a '15 1LE the way I wanted. Had the deal done. Just couldn't sell my fourth gens in time. (Still have them)

I'm seeing 2 of what are described as former Bondurant 1LE's on the ebay.

Now. I've searched on here. A lot. Just figured I would post a dumb question.

If you had $25k to spend. Would you bite on what adds up to an ultra low mileage vehicle that has been ridden hard. You would have to buy an aftermarket warranty because GM blocked the powertrain warranty. Which is understandable. Or does GM have an super extended warranty for big $?

Flame away.

$25k? I'd say it's worth the risk. Though some of us treat our cars like they're fragile(I know I do), they're really pretty tough. Most of us weekend warriors don't even get close to testing the true potential of these cars. Worst case scenario, yours has been pushed hard for a few thousand miles.

Well Bondurant has a racing school or HPDE, so those cars im sure we're beat to piss almost every day. Maintenance on them is a mystery. But with the money you save new to used........ May be enough cushion to cover cost of a huge failure like an engine per say. I personally wouldn't buy it just because of the fact.

Not with your money would I touch those. Download the owner's manual and look at the break-in requirements. You think they followed even one of them? Don't think so.

Makes me think of the Z06 Corvettes at Ron Fellows Racing School last summer. They were giving hot laps at the Chevrolet dealer meeting all day - the cars were coming in with smoking brakes, and no matter where you were or what classroom you were in you could hear the cars screaming. And that was just one day...... Let me think, nah!! :-)

Yep, I'd buy one, and it'd be my track day car. Not sure I'd buy one for a daily. It would really depend on my inspection , drive, and service records.

I traded in my 2014 1LE, about six months ago. It was a 2SS, RS, recaro equipped car with less than 5K miles on it. They said my car was worth $28K. It was a garage queen. They are asking too much for a track beater.

I think this sums it up. There is a point that the cars would be a good deal, but not at $25K in my opinion.

If you have any VIN#'s I'd like to run them and see if they have warranty block. If they do you will not be able get an extended warranty anywhere.

I'd also be curious to see if there are any maintenance records. If the car was well maintained (regular oil, diff, trans fluid changes).
