I don't have a huge beef with the pressure plate... I'm desiring a new throwout bearing assembly myself preferably a RAM or equivalent?? Even after my trans swap I'm still getting feedback when the clutch is depressed. Shifts are fine but still feels like clutch needs a hair more travel on the disengagement of the throwout bearing (kinda like what the redesigned SS throwout had to add)

Anyone else get a pm from a law firm regarding a possible defect in our clutches?

No, who was it? Are they going to try to get a t56 swap kit with a clutch for each of us in a settlement?

I found an Aussie company who sells Commodore VE kits that will fit our car. Take a look at there site. Including a kit to replace our dual mas flywheel with a solid one.

http://www.directclutchservices.com.au/

It was from Michael Monheit from these guys:
http://www.anapolschwartz.com/

"You are not alone on the clutch problem. There is a known problem with the V6 manual clutch. We are investigating this right now! Our reserach shows that the clutches on V6 manual transmission on Chevrolet Camaros are disintegrating with low miles and no abuse. GM knows of problem but is not recalling. Problem is potentially dangerous, because if clutch goes out at the wrong time, big trouble could ensue. I am a lawyer and we want to hold GM accountable for this known problem that they are refusing to recall. People's lives are at stake. It is a safety issue as far as we are concerned.

If you want to discuss this with me, please email me: mmonheit@anapolschwartz.com or call me at 866-761-1385 (which goes directly to my cell phone!). I hope I can be helpful to you with this. I am not charging you any fee for discussing this with you, so no worries at that end.

I am most interested in finding others instances where the clutch has disintegrated rapidly without misuse and to put that data together with others who we know have had this problem."

Ok, after talking to the DCS guys it looks like replacing the flywheel as well is the only option. :(

The problem we have is the Dual Mass Flywheel in general are only designed to cope with stock power and no more.
Using a heavier clutch set up or raising the power output of the engine will often result in premature failure of the flywheel.
That said most clutch up grades do not bolt to the stock dual mass flywheel including our own or exedy for example.…
Our only option would be to look drilling another pressure plate to suit that stock flywheel.
In all its not the way it should be done

Howdy.

I have done significant research and finally think I found a couple companies that make highly recommended products compatible with our 3.6L engine and AY-6 tranny.

Monster Clutches
http://www.monsterclutch.com/gm.html

Hendrix Engineering
http://hendrix-engineering.com/hendr...eering_002.htm

Going to give them both a call Monday or Tuesday to see if they believe their products will work in our cars.

Please let me know if any of you have had good/bad experiences with either of these companies or know that none of their products are compatible.

Have a good one,
-mm

I think they just make stuff for the LS motors not the LLT.

yep. says it right at the freaking top of the site. that's what i get for searchin at 3am.

EDIT: Contacted them anyways and they said I am the first request for V6 clutches. They're lookin for donations of the stock clutches to engineer a better one.

Also contacted Hendrix Engineering. All they carry for our V6 is axels but they said they're in negotiations with a company now for making clutches. He's making some calls to see if he can get some sooner for us.

Yup, that exactly why I'm not getting one any time soon. But if we want an aftermarket clutch we still have to replace our dual mass flywheel with a solid one.
