I owned a Nickey for about a year and the experiance I had with them was awesome... stage 2 n/a... was able to sell the car and get top dollar, I didnt lose a dime on the thing. My Next car will most likely be a stage 2 ZL1 with Nickey... they are pushing about 850 HP at the crank... just insane
im not sure about the other shops, I have heard they are great to deal with, but I would recommend anyone to NIckey... awesome people to work with, Dennis Barker has camaro running through his veins... he was instrumental with the rollout of the 4th Gen Berger SS camaros with GMMG... a true camaro guy and just a great person to work with. I would at least contact him at Nickey and let him know what your plans with the car would be before you make a choice who will do the work on your car. |

Compare price points for your performance mods and then compare performance shops with a proven track record for success.
I highly recommend LIVERNOIS MOTORSPORTS! |

Nickey built my first car in 2010. When it was time to upgrade, they also helped me find a buyer and I will tell you that the car held its value.
Then they built me a stage 2 ZL1. At 875 BHP, 733 RWHP, and 682 lbs of torque, the car is a beast. I had made 4 passes with my 2SS and this weekend, I made my very first pass in the ZL1 and got kicked out for running 11.07 without a roll bar and harness. You know that if I could have gotten a couple more passes to learn the car and make some adjustments, I would have been in the mid 10's. This is a 100% street legal car, 91 octane pump gas, manual transmission, and was driven by someone who doesn't have any experience. Imagine what kind of ET it could get with an experienced driver. Obviously, I trust and appreciate Nickey Chicago and recommend them. These guys know Camaros and do things right. Best of all, they treat me like family, not a customer. Been a firm believer in doing my own mods. That's my suggestion...

Appearance mods are one thing, but mechanical mods are another. Most of these prior listed companies, to include Nickey, build their cars so that customers like me can pound the pi$$ out of them with confidence. The local mechanic for one; isn't going to have the experience specific to these cars, and two, sure the heck isn't going to offer a warranty. They are building these cars expecting you to drive them hard and to the limits. So that piece of mind is well worth it, not to mention that they are finding gains in the cars that no one else can, or at least with safety and reliability also in there.
