Looks like I'm saying goodbye...

To my Camaro... It's hard to believe in a way, but I'm about to pull the trigger on a new Avalanche. I just got the truck bug and wanted something more functional. I love my Camaro and have had no problems with it, but I'm getting married soon, and I'm ready to become the "provider". Of course, my ideal garage would have an Avalanche LTZ and a Camaro ZL-1, but us law enforcement guys just don't make that much...

I know I haven't been all that active, but you guys are a great, passionate community, and I will still be around. At least with an Avalanche, I'm staying in the Chevy family. And I'm more true to my namesake... (Optimus Prime IS a truck, after all... albeit a semi... lol)

Has anybody else had this feeling of considering trading your car, or the truck bug? Thanks for everything everyone! Maybe I'll win the lotto and I can get that ZL-1, or get a 6th gen in the future to go with the truck!

Don't do it!!! Get married that is

I have thought of trading my CTS and 2SS in for an F250, don't really know why though. I need one like I need 2 cars...go figure.

Only thought of trading it for an SS. Good luck, stay safe brother. 1*

I did a similar thing back in 99. Sold my 97 TA for a Silverado 2500. While we enjoyed the truck for a few years, it was owning a truck that made me realize I was a car guy and not a truck guy.

Good luck!

I've done the opposite of you. Did the whole trucks and SUV scene first and now I'm with the Camaro, my first actual 'car'. Much happier with the Camaro, honestly. Then again, I'm a younger, single guy with no family plans on my horizon.

What about keeping the Camaro and going with a used Avalanche?

i go through a yearly cycle- once hunting season gets close ( around august) i start getting the truck bug wishing i had one, but as soon as its over ( jan 1st) and the snow season passes ( late march) im right back into the car scene ( but as soon as huntings over i go back to the whole car/ mod scene). Im back and forth...once i have the maro payed off the next vehicle will be a 4wd truck.

I say keep the camaro and buy a cheap beater truck. Back when I was younger I bought a nice new Silverado as my work truck, I'll never do that again, also you become everyones favorite person when they need something picked up or moved.

Thanks for all the thoughts everyone! As far as keeping the Camaro and getting a used truck, I just couldn't and don't want to do two car payments. I'm trying to stay on the up and up financially, cause I know we'll want to buy a house soon. Also, my fiance's car (an '01 Mustang) is on its last leg, so we'll be trading that up within the next year or so. So I figure we can have her get the fun car (with better fuel economy) at that time... And I had a '95 V6 Camaro about ten years ago that I traded for a Chevy Blazer 4-dr, and honestly, I was quite happy with the "truck".

I had a 4th gen before I got married and had kids. I sold it and bought a Ford Explorer (first and last Ford I owned) now the kids are older and the 5th gens are out so I got one.

Maybe we'll see you again in 2020 something when the6th gens are out.

I went from an Avalanche to the Camaro. I loved my Avalanche, so did my wife and dog and it's great for its functionality but sadly it was totaled. The Camaro was going to be my second car but now it's my DD. One word of advice... never put a Golden Retriever in your Camaro. I'm still finding hair in it.
