I'm planning on getting a 2012 ZL1 the only thing that would hold me back at this point is they reduce how many there going to make. I'm in a holding pattern and waiting for my dealer to have another round of allocations come his way. If they cut the 2012's short and I'm hoping if I'm forced into buying a 2013 that I'll still have time to attend the camaro fest event in August with my new car. Thank goodness I'm working almost everyday otherwise I might be a Drake clone on these threads.
Oh and Drake I hope your doing OK and i give you alot of .

Because that's just what we need; drivers to be distracted by a DVD... as if texting isn't bad enough!

DVD's belong in the overhead console/headrests. Not in the front. JMO.

I wasn't advocating for it, I was only responding to the poster who said that you could have a DVD going while driving.

I agree with you, you should pay attention to driving when you are driving!

I wouldnt buy the first year of any new car. Always bugs etc to work out hence the reason we still dont have a 2012 car.

Since I am in the military i get to visit other countries. For those of you that havent been to korea. They watch tv and drive they have more screens going on inside the car then i think is needed and they drive a helluva lot better then americans hell stop lights and stop signs are more of advice not a solid rule.

So a simple 7 inch screen whatever. Usually the factory stuff sux anyhow or they end the contract with the nav company then you have a useless nav system anyhow.

Seriously, people are upset over a radio. With all the great advances they have made on this car and the fact that they are moving the muscle car wars forward, a radio is the problem? The last thing I care about is the radio. As long as it plays music occasionally when I am standing still, that is all I need. Really a radio?

Hate to say it, but that's going to happen. If it doesn't improve from year to year then GM is doing something wrong. I guess I'm not very intelligent.

If the 7" screen and MyLink turns out to be something that simply cannot live without, then I will consider upgrading the radio/headunit. But for me, I do not want to get back in line again and wait.

Not considering cancelling. Too many people want these cars. FWIW.

No my post was more to the fact that MOST AFTERMARKET units let your OPERATE THE NAVIGATION FUNCTIONS while driving. I have FACTORY NAV in my LEXUS IS350 and I hate that when I'm moving more than 1mph the screen locks up and I can't use it...aftermarket units don't do this. I would NEVER watch a damn movie while driving!

I'm getting the 2013. I might not be 1st. But I will be rare. We're not going to see a bunch of Zl1's on the street. Even here in SoCal.
Guys talking about the 2012 being a collectors car cracks me up. Yeah maybe in 30 years.
As far as the touch screen...I agree with a lot of other posters. Just get an aftermarket unit, if it's something you really have to have.

My nav system is my beautiful wife and a map. No buttons and it's voice activated. She may have a touch screen, but that's none of your business!
