I bought the G5CR CAI. I noticed a difference on the lower end. You can hear the difference too.

Cold Air Inductions!
Insulated closed box, ceramic coated, nice looking, improved responsiveness & a little more HP, better sound, easy to install....... I love mine!

I think all of them are pretty much a waist of money on a stock car.

Love my Roto-Fab, looks great improved avg fuel mileage about 2.3mpg and noticed a little increase in the seat of the pants dyno.

CAI is the way to go. Any aftermarket intake is better sound, a little better power, and once you have supporting mods it only increases the intakes' effectiveness.

OP, no Cold Air Inductions?

CAI, Roto, and VR are the three mentioned the most and for good reason. Their gains are consistent. The only drawl back for me with VR was tilting back the radiator. CAI and Roto both are sealed from the engine bay heat. I highly recommend an intake that has some form of seal to close off from the bay.

The cost seems "high", but the intake really comes alive and the bang for your buck really comes when you get a tune done... then add headers and exhaust and the intakes effectiveness is improved drastically.

You read wrong...if this was the case then more than half of the members would not have intake systems. 10-14 hp gains on a stock engine without a tune is great for intake on a stock engine with no other mods. Something CAI, VR, ROTO, all do routinely and have proven in independent testing over stock.

What you may have read is that some webpages have a "GMPP performance intake" which is nothing more than a dress up kit for the exterior of the intake.

The GM Performance Parts Air Intake Kit has NEVER been released. I had paid for one in August 2009 and waited until Feb 2011 for it to come out, it never did and I asked for my money back from the dealership. They refunded my money and I went out and ordered a Roto-Fab CAIto install in my car.

The CAI gives the engine a little growl. It also looks great.
