hesitation/surging/supercharged

OK just installed an Edelbrock SC on my car and 1st,2nd,and,3rd gear are beast but what I noticed is when I am in a higher gear cruising at lower rpm's the car rides nice until i start to give it a little gas and there seems to be quite a bit of hesitation and surging. I am not sure if this was there prior to me installing it as I did not drive it much prior to installing supercharger. I have not data logged it yet and it is the canned tune that comes with the package. seems to idle fine.

I doubt it is the tune because it is in the lower fuel trims. Maybe this is normal?

Any other mods? The canned tune is set for dead stock vehicles. Could be a weak MAF sensor too.

Corvette guy had the same problem. Had a corrupt tune from edelbrock. Timing map was jacked. I would look into that ASAP.

This is fairly common with the Edelbrock calibration, there is not enough timing in the low RPM high load areas which will cause a surging.

What are "we" going to do about this? I assume you have a plan?

Definitely shouldn't be surging, it is most likely because of the canned tune. I would seek out a local shop if possible, a good tuner can fix the surge and have it driving like a million bucks. Not to mention a dyno tune is great to check out the wide open throttle performance to make sure it is safe.

You can purchase a Custom JRE tune, using the supplied SCT Edelbrock Tuner.

Email me directly tedj@jannettyracing.com

I never thought using an SCT Tuner for my car would be such a pain in this ass. installed an edelbrock super charger over christmas and could not load supplied tune into car. waited until after the holidays to work with Edelbrock tech support. Said ecu not supported. I got a hold of them and after we ran thru the same things i did over again they had to send me a different file to force the tune in.
I did not care for how the car was running so I contacted Ted at JRE and purchased a new tune. yup you guessed it more damn problems. now it shows incorrect vehicle. I tried to load my stock tune back in and it said the same thing. device shows married to vehicle but will not work.

Should of bought the new tvs system and hptuners and tuned the damn car myself. Thats my rant for the day.

Sorry for your trouble, I suspect you have an Old Firmware.

Call SCT Tech and they will get you up an running and everything will be what you expect from JRE.

Ted.

Thanks Ted,
The firmware is up to date. I have SCT working on it right now. You have been great. I am just really agitated at the problems i have been having. I opened the stock file weeks ago and seen there had been a change in the ecu programming. this change just happened for 2013FO

makes me wonder what has changed.

Car is fixed and I drove it to work. This car runs 90% better than the canned tune. Thanks Ted. will do some data logging and send to you. needs a few tweaks to be perfect. What a difference though.
