Heck ya it is easier to drive at the limit. The ZR1 requires a pro driver with a lot of experience to take to the limit. Just listen to what Randy said about it in last years Best drivers car.

Randy's impressions at 2:40

These are serious car's that should not typically be ones first track car as there is more chance for injury or even death when your car is capable of such astounding speeds. A Cobalt SS would be a a better choice for your first track car that is much safer and easier to push to the limit and get the fundamentals of racing down.

I maintain I think ZL1 will still be more than competitive in the twisties, but if you give that Snake enough space, it's going to be tough to stay out front.
About the Ring.... It's an old video, but outright power doesn't do much there...

If the GT500 wants to beat the ZL1 time, it'll have to be a good handling car...

Good video. The 'ring doesn't have a lot of straights, even the high speed parts have some kinks which demand a good handling car.

This. The ring has a couple of fast straights that you can build speed on and make up time but for the most part the track seems to require excellent handling ability to turn a good time. Remember a cobalt is only 2 seconds behind an SS camaro around the ring despite being down 150 or so hp.

No doubt, that is one aspect about the ring that I don't think people understand. The difference between the ZR1 and Z06 was some 3 seconds on that track even though the Z06 packs 505BHP and the ZR1 638BHP.

Also the Nissan LFA with only 550BHP ran a faster time..

The GTR is proof that despite it being not ideal, you can make a heavy car fast with good engineering and electronics.
Turbo cars get more bias, but even the s/c cars get a break on dyno's as they are rigged to correct for n/a motors. Expect the zl1 and new gt500 to look good on dyno's. Especially the gt500 at 15 psi.
Also, Toyota made the LFA. They have a special ' ring addition. The zl1 should do a lightning lap edition, or VIR with the sticky tires.
Crazy impressive time. Only really comparable to the new zr1, and ford's gt500 run.

LFA

Well, I know Toyota is owner of Lexus or something like that, but the LFA is Technically a Lexus..... and it's base price is a mere $375,000.... so, if it couldn't beat the ZL1 it would be a HUGE waste of money..... For $375,000 I would still rather own SIX yes 6 ZL1's LOADED!!!

If you had the money, and you drove, rode in, heard, or saw the LF-A in person, you wouldn't be saying that. The car is incredible.

yes I have hail yahmaha. the best thing about the car isn't even really lexus developed. ha ha. car is still an epic fail in my book. cost 2 mil to build and can't outlap a Z06 without being taken outside production specs.

$375k??? hmm 458 229k, z07/gtr 95k, zl-1 55k= 379k I would rather have that stable than one overpriced lexus/yahmaha.

I have seen the car in person, it is a cool car, but it isn't worth $375,000 to me. I am a very practical person. Just because I have the money to spend, doesn't mean I would buy something for more money when I can get a better car for less.

I would buy a ZR1 before even considering a LFA. It doesn't make sense to pay more money for something just because you have money when there is an equally or better product for less money. Not just a little more money, but I could stioll get 3 yes THREE ZR1's for that much money.

Doesn't make sense.

If I were going to pay that much money for a vehicle, it would be a Saleen S7. A car that was actually designed (****pit area) for each buyer when ordered from the factory. They kinda customize the seat, pedals, and controls for each person.
