'01 RS package - ?

I was planning to sell my Z28 when I got my SS but had no takers so I'm keepin it.

One of the 'for sale by owner' lots I checked out asked if it had the RS package and I've been wondering if there was an RS package in the 2001 model year. Does anyone know? And if there was, what was included in it?

I believe the RS package in 01 was a stick on spoiler, side skirts, and front gfx. I'm not a fan.

RS was 96-97(V6 only) in 98-02 it became the sport appearance package V6 and V8, SLP made the RS in 01-02 but it was a V6 option only.

Actually, no...The RS RPO Y3B was offered in '01 and '02 with some little take off Z/28 stuffs from the SS cars converted at SLP, such as muffler and tips, badges, ZR1 style 16" wheels, and stripe packages.

The Sport Appearance packages were available on base V6 and Z/28 cars, as seen here on the now-departed '02 Z.

Oh, contrair...There certainly was. In fact, there's a NBM RS here in town, I'll snap ya a pic tonight if you so desire..

Here are a couple of the promos from SLP I have in the computer room, just for the fun of it...

If you notice the two to the extreme right in this pic, the Pewter and red Firebirds are the Firebird GT, same deal, just a 'bird.

The rarity is what is neat about 'em to me. Based on the numbers quoted, I'd bet a fair bit of them were sold in Florida, as I've seen a bunch over the years. Makes me almost want to buy one (the NBM one here in town is on a car lot)...Then I realize we have too many 3800 cars already.

I don't really care though. It was in bad shape. Front bumper had holes in the paint, stripes were faded, had a huge ding somewhere in it, the interior was ripped up, and it sounded mediocre. Oh, and no T-Tops. Couldn't have that.

Nothing wrong with the 3800...Ours are wrong wheel drive, but they are under pressure.

Thanks, that's what I thought.

The guy working the lot was trying to tell me there was an RS package offered on the Z28 'because the computer says so'. I didn't think so because I had an RS before the Z28, but it got me wondering.
