High end cars have them. Lexus for instance. Not an aero issue, but keeps compartment 99% spotless!!

Can anyone post a few pics of how the belly pan is mounted? I spent a lot of time this weekend under my vert. I think a pan can be mounted undert the X-bracing, drilling out for the existing bolts. This apporach does not seem to interfer with anything. I would not go back as far and the stock pan, stopping just before the oil filter.

Also, what gauge metel is the stock pan?

Thoughts from those that have spent time under their cars?

Not speed limited when tuned...and they go over 150 with just a roto fab and a tune...the belly pan is not there do to having bracing and difference in design and the function of the vert, the vert has the same road and speed abilities as the coupe this is from the GM web site,I doubt the belly pan would fit.
The belly pan works at speeds well under 150mph..

Like the coupe, the Camaro ZL1 convertible powered by the 580-hp/432-kW LSA engine, as well as the same advanced powertrain and chassis technologies. And because the architecture for the fifth-generation Camaro was designed to accommodate a convertible model, it gives the ZL1 convertible coupe-like driving dynamics. Four strategic reinforcements enhance the already-stiff body structure to quell the cowl and steering wheel shake common in convertibles. They include:

A tower-to-tower brace under the hood
A transmission support reinforcement brace
Underbody tunnel brace
Front “X” brace and stiffer cradle as well as rear underbody “V” braces.
Additional structural reinforcements in the ZL1 convertible are designed to improve noise and vibration characteristics, while also reducing unwanted ride and body motions. They include a hydroformed tube in the A-pillars, an inner reinforcement bracket in the windshield header, a reinforced front hinge pillar and reinforcements inside the rockers.

The bottom line is a convertible designed to preserve nearly all the acceleration, road-holding and performance capabilities of the Camaro ZL1 coupe...GM

My friend has had his Vert at above 170...

My vert under side ..Its always clean, but anyway here is a good look for some that may have never seen or had a good look at one after its had header etc.. installed to see if the pan would fit..I think it might be a good idea although the vert's design is different,If your planning on running your vert at the speeds at which a pan really starts to shine then i say go for it,otherwise its not needed...IMOP.. Good luck ,and post pics if you do it..

Do not think it would fit but let us know.
It is something that might take some moding to do.
I think if you make a cardboard template you might be able to fabricate something or have someone do it. I have a welder who is good with aluminum. He could make one if I do the template. But cost might be high.

It is plastic I think and held in place by 10 bolts.

I think GM put most likely millions just in designing the aero,so making one in a welding shop wont do any re good...

I think the coupe belly pan would fit the vert fine, but I'm not sure. I would look at doing that before fabricating one. Gen5DIY has them for $115

Great shot of the coupe underside.
It looks like you would have to get under the cross bracing of the vert.
I do not know if it would get over it and have a good seal.
It might really screw up with aerodynamics.

Like you said its a small price to pay to find out.

...belly pan is aero and helps you keep downforce.....it does pick up some grit and road matter, no worry. Keep the force!

Just took a hard look last night and it's not going to fit.

You could not get it under the cross bracing on the Vert without distorting the hell out of this belly pan.

You could fit it over but it would screw with the airflow and cause problems.

This is why chevy decided to ditch the belly pan on the vert.

Another one of the things that got put aside on the vert.

But when you put the top down all if forgotten.
Still never let it slow me down. At over 170mph that is not one of the things I'm thinking about. Really
