Old vs new tvs2300
Can someone fill me in on this differences? I googled and found some info but it's all numbers no stats on changes. Trying to decide if it's worth saving a grand to get old style. I actually would love the whine from the old style if it's possible but at the same time would not prefer that over a better built or more capable new designed blower. Any info would be great!

No exact specs here but the new direct drive has fewer moving parts. (No jackshaft, rear belt & pulley, bearings, ect) I think it's a lot cleaner design. Two piece blower and mani allows for a one man install. Stock setup does not require the crank to be pinned but I did anyway for safety. Optional pinning kit is around $100.
I can tell you I boost 7 psi on the stock 98mm pulley and 9 psi on the 91 mm pulley. Stock cam, other mods in sig & garage. Should be around 600 whp? IDK. No dyno yet as none are close to me. 4.2 sec logged 60-100 mph pull with HPTuners, stock was close to 6 sec.

The new style does not make much noise correct? Whats needed for maintenance? Are there any troubles with belts coming off? The belt issue may not be there until more boost I assume.

The old style TVS does not whine either, you would need to add the rear cog drive belt and pulleys to get the whine. The new design boasts better efficiency from the S/C than the previous design. The older version is well built and sound without any serious issues that I'm aware of, the same can be said for the new version. Slightly better efficiency and looks are the differences between the two.

Just installed the old style, no complaints with it. Like you said saved some money on the supercharger, and was able to buy bigger injectors and fuel pump.

I thought the older style was better if you were going to up the boost in the future.

the new style was just as much as the old style when i got mine 2 months ago. so it was a easy decision for me. i had a jackshaft blower on my previous car, so i wanted to go a different route this time.

I prefer the look of the jackshaft version.

I have the New TVS2300 and yes there IS a supercharger whine. It can be heard!.
If your looking for the loud whine like the 2003-2004 cobras then get the jackshaft and the rear cog drive, then it would be very loud. I can hear my whine while driving. Here is a few videos on the dyno, its loud enought for people to know what it is!! And FYI, i did NOT put long tube headers or a CAI, and was able to get a 3year 36K warranty with this setup through slp, accepted by GM.
