On one of our supercharged HPE550's we gained about 22 rear wheel hp from the time the car was new til when it had 1000 miles on it. It was a noticable power gain.

Hey SummoneR, glad you are finally enjoying your car. Also, mine ran great since day 1. I have varied my speeds during break in and was not afraid to jump on it a few times but not the hard stomp the pedal type. When all my buddies want to know if I have smoked the tires I show them a u tube black Camaro doing a burnout and tell them that its me. Why should I subject my baby to that kind of abuse

It took the fuse pull to wake mine. At 1,500 miles I turned a 13.38 @ 105.65 mph. I know that it will do better the next time out. I went to NED Friday and just as they were lining us up it rained. Clear skies every where else, but it rained right over the drag strip. I love this car!

I encourage everyone who is waiting longer than usual for the "wake up" to try the fuse pull. Just because your friendly neighborhood gas station says there's 91 in their tanks doesn't necessarily mean there is.

6 Speed. Cut mufflers off at 45 miles. Car came to life finally at 2500 miles. When it woke up it was VERY noticeable! By the way, it's on page 12 of Nov Car Craft. BURNOUT!!!! Anyone seen it?

Is the fuse pull for both LS3 and L99 or just the L99? How much better will it run?

The car has two octane settings in its computer. One for the gas your manual recommends, and one for lower, because it's the law that all cars be able to run on 87. There's a small glitch in that when your computer has to shift to the lower octane setting, it's supposed to re-check periodically, and it doesn't. So even if you get a bad tank of gas and then go fill up w/ the good stuff, your computer doesn't know it and is still using the inferior table, causing reduced performance. The fuse pull fixes this because the computer is then made to re-check. |

Well I have my own way of breaking in a new motor but I will say the day I picker my car up about 2 weeks ago it was a slob and I was very dissapointed. I have driven many fast cars and have a TT C6 Corvette. I only have 600 miles on the car and am feeling a good improvement as the miles roll on. I break my cars in hard and let them cool down the first 400-500 miles then drive them hard the rest of the time without regard for RPM's or MPH.
I have read so many diffrent opinions of how the car feels diffrent after 100 miles and some say 1,000 miles. I am curious if anyone did a dyno pull at 200 miles or less and had the same car tested again between 2-3 K. I wish I had the time to do mine when I picked it up.
