Odd 'burning candle/ wax' smell...

Just a quick post to see if someone knew what this issue could be.

Saturday night when I got home my wife and I thought someone in the neighborhood was buring candles like crazy. Turns out the smell was coming from my car. On the way to work today the smell was coming through the vents. It's not the clutch - that has a completely different smell. No smoke either.

Does anyone know what this may be? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like radiator fluid! Probably coming from your heater core! At least that's what I'm thinking! Does it kinda smell like syrup in a way?

I can kind of imagine the smell being like a syrupy smell. It's definitely strong. I'm guessing this is an immediate trip to the shop. Hopefully covered under the warranty.

I was worried something had happened to my friend's vert I was driving last week as it had a horrible smell such as you describe, and it was a plastic bag stuck under the car and melting! Would be nice if your problem were that simple.

Hope it is something minor.
Last spring I was on my way to a friend's house about 220 miles away. I was stopped at a light about half way and smelled what I thought was a restaurant grille. After getting up to speed again, couldn't smell it. Smelled it again on the way home. GF said she could smell it when we were nearly home. Opened the hood when we got home and found it was one of the kittens from a ferrel cat that's around the area. Wasn't much I could do but remove what was left stuck between the frame and header on passenger side. We actually have one from her first litter, but haven't seen him in a few days.

It was one of those moments you feel bad but nothing you can do about it.

Were you able to get to a dealership to address this concern? They should be able to pinpoint the issue. We are here if you have any questions or concerns.

Look to see if you ran over a plastic bag in the street and it is melted to your Catalytic Converter. I've had it happen before on different cars. Otherwise go to the dealer.
