New Tires

Hi,
Don't really know much about tires. I am going to be needing new tires for my SS soon. I have stock rims. 275/30-20 in the back and 245/45-20 in the fronts. I know I can get Pirelli's but are those the best tires out there that I can buy for my car? I would like to stay with summer tire's for the improved handeling. Any advice on where to look, or what type of tire might fit would be much appreciated. Thanks

JackRabitSlims, to be quite honest.....even though you are wanting ti stick with summer tires....to give us a little better idea of what tires to recommend, how do you USE your car? Daily Driver? do you take it to the track and use your STREET tires when you do? When you go to teh track.....is it Drag Racing? or Auto Cross? all those thing work into it.

My car is a daily driver. Never taken it to the track, but I would like to. Really just want a good street tire that has good traction. I do not really care about traction in colder weather, if snow is on the roads, my car is parked until it is cleaned up. I do drive my car with P Zeros in cold weather up in New Jersey. Probably the coldest would be 8 degrees and that would only be for a short time frame.

with what you told us......There is a REALLY GOOD High Performance Tire available.....rating for traction is the same as the P-Zero's.....but its wear rating is a lot higher AND its an ALL SEASON......there are A LOT of people, including myself, running them. its the GENERAL G-MAX AS-03's They handle great, and they're quiet too.

General G-Max's rock. My car performs allot better in the rain than with the P-Zeros and seems to handle just as well in dry. In fact I am having less tire spin off the line with them than the P-Zeros.

Holy Cow! I only got 15,000 out of my Pzeros, with no burnouts. However, I did corner aggressively! Lol
