Doesn't make any sense to me why anyone would tear apart their vehicle, to purchase gears to drive a second or two more quickly to get to work or the grocery store.
Great write up for PR but, I'd have to say if your gears aren't going to hold up on the track "don't sell them" because I don't think most people are doing this mod to drive to the grocery store. Just my .02 cents.
EXACTLY!

Because it makes driving to the grocery store (and everywhere else) so much more fun! I've put over 18K miles on mine, so far, and love 'em. However, I haven't been to the track, as of yet, so who knows what will happen then (I'll probably just spin 'cuz I don't have drag tires or suspension mods to help it hook).

So how are those richmond gears working out for you fldrummer? How have they been working on the street?

Pretty good, for a while. 'Never planned on adding FI when I had them installed though... Oh yeah, also, the 3.91s weren't available yet at the time. 'Looks like I got a lot more life out of them than most around here, so I'm not complaining.

You blew the gears on the street correct? Did you have drag tires or suspension upgrades when it happened?

Yeah, I was flooring it down a local street in the rain with racing slicks and stock suspension when I hit a dry patch, dead-hooked and wondered what happened. ...But seriously, why are you resurrecting an old thread and asking questions you should easily be able to find the answers to on your own?

Just updateing the richmond broken gear list and since you said it would only take drag tires and modfied suspension to do it i thought i would bring it back

Cool. I remember when you broke your 3.73s at the track. You sounded like you were gonna kill somebody after that, LOL! Anyway, why do you think I never went to the track (except that one time)? ;-) I'm sure mine were slowly getting brittle over time from all the street abuse and more power I kept throwing at them and they finally gave way. At least It happened close to home and I was still able to drive it . Now I gotta figure out where to go from here. I know one thing--I feel spoiled now I'm back to driving with stock gears (for now). 'Definitely want 3.91s now, but if I'm gonna go all-out with drivetrain upgrades, it will have to wait a while. Decisions, decisions.

My spider gears let go before the Richmonds. Putting a true-trac and getting the other set I had treated by liberty gear.
