Hi! Excellent write up and review on the Kenne Bell. I enjoyed reading it very much. My question is how reliable is the Kenne Bell compared to the Maggie TVS for the Camaro? I am sure it is great product and very reliable but I was told the Maggie is more reliable and the Kenne Bell is more prone to having problems! I really like the Kenne Bell and would prefer the performance and power of that unit but I do confess I am learning about this stuff and just want to make a good decision. I respect all companies products and understand people have opinions and they can be biased to their favorite products! Customers are the best ambassadors so have you recieved many other feedbacks? Thanks and once again an excellent product!

I cannot offer a reliability comparison between a Maggie and the Kenne Bell, but this not the first Kenne Bell I have owned. The previous one was on a LSX motor in a sand car and I did my very best to abuse it on a regular basis and I never had a problem with it. Broke 2 trannies, numerous CV joints, even an A arm or 2, but the blower performed flawlessly. I hope this helps.

Did I mention it is VERY sexy?

Won't the air filter be subject to in-climate weather if it's so far down like that?

Nice looking in the engine bay there. Kenne Bell's are very pretty units.

My big question is how is the boost? I've read that because of the way the Kenne Bell bypass valve is setup, the slaps shut all of a sudden and it's either all or nothing. In other words, boost isn't progressive, it's explosive. Nothing at all wrong with that, just different from the Maggie which gradually closes the bypass valve as vacuum on the motor drops giving more progressive power as in easing away from a stop light.

I've got something in store for my Challenger which will be interesting as well. I drop it off at Arrington Engines on Monday.

KB and Maggie use virtually the EXACT same bypass valve.

No, the valve does not SLAM shut. Its starts to close arounf 7" of vacuum, but is fully closed right artound 3" of vacuum. If you mash the throttle, the bypass closes instantly, and you get instant boost. But if you roll on, yes you can get a linear (somewhat) nboost increase.

It is no different than any other top mount blower.

That's not what Mr. Norms garage says who are a Kenne Bell specialty shop....I wouldn't think the blower for the Camaro is different from that on the Challenger, but maybe it is. They've actually had to develop a "boost box" to help alleviate the problem on the Kenne Bell.

They've explained that the Kenne Bell actually uses boost to close the bypass valve which makes it a bit more sudden.

Again, maybe it's different on the Camaro, but I've had people with Kenne Bell's on the Mustang say the same thing.

Any gauges in this car like AFR or EGT or ?
