New Stereo/Kenwood 9990HD with Metra
Just got this put in over the weekend. Love it much better than stock.

Looks nice! What are your thoughts on the head unit? I am thinking of getting this one myself, but I am leaning towards the Scoshe bezel. Did you install it yourself? How hard was it? Did you keep satellite radio? Where did you run your iPod cable?

I love the head unit, very responsive, GPS is amazing. Actually Best Buy installed for and did a wonderful job. I do know of some people who did do it themselves and said it was pretty easy. I never used the satelittel radio so that was not an issue, and the ipod cable was run into the glove box, works out pretty nice in there.

just an FYI. You can use a standard mini USB cable (you probably have 10 of them from old phones), and run it right into your existing plug in your center console. You wouldn't even have to pull your stereo. Just route the cable back towards the center, pop the passenger side console "facia" type piece and route the cable to the back. 2 screws pulls the back piece off and gives you access to the back side of the USB plug there. plug and play.
Just throwing an option out there if you werent aware how easy it was. I have the 6690HD (same one but with a knob) and love it! |

Thanks for the feedback. I really like the Kenwood units and think I will be leaning towards the 9990HD.
Did you puchase the HU from Best Buy? What did the total install run you with equipment? |

I have also thought of this unit. It supports XM/sirius with the extra module..
Only thing holding me back is that I have a convertible and live in a city.. Probably would have a window smashed pretty soon with that screen seen thru the windows. |

I got the entire kit from Double D Mods here on the forum, and Best Buy only charged me for a DVD/NAV install which here by me was only 119.99. So I thought that was a good price and they did an awesome job hooking it up.

Not sure why you think a coupe would prevent them from smashing a window and taking it if they were going to....... |
