The price increase was expected and is reasonable, IMO. I am shopping for a V8 performance/luxury coupe and estimate a fully loaded Hyper Blue 2SS to price between $45,000-$48,000. That's a bargain when compared to the Laguna Blue 2LT Corvette Stingray at $68,900 MSRP with options and the Vector Blue ATS-V at $71,710 MSRP with options, on my list. YMMV

That said, just because the Mustang is more affordable doesn't mean it's the better choice, but price is always important. I have no doubt that I would love the 1SS, it's just up to me to decide if it's worth $4k more. I was hoping to get the 1SS with MRC and NPP, but that may be biting off more than I can reasonably afford considering it's current price. |

I'm absolutely happy I decided to buy a used Z instead of waiting for a 2ss. The gen6 2ss crowd will be competing against a larger field now. You're in used c7 territory, used zl1, not to mention all the other makes that will be fighting for market share. I'm actually okay with it though, stronger competition will lead to innovation hopefully. I obviously don't mind paying a premium for performance, however it makes me wonder. Will a new ZL1 start competing price wise with some of the base z06 models? If I'm up there in the 70-75k range, that would put me in a vette 20 years too early for it, in a heartbeat.

If you look at the pricing the 2016 LT Camaro is cheaper then the 2015 LT Camaro, it is just the fact that the LS trim level was dropped that is confusing everyone.
The V-6 Mustang isn't a car that i would want to own (though I would rather have the V-6 over the ecoboost no the ecoboost has features). The Ecoboost starts at $26,200 and easily options up to $30,000 and the Ecoboost prem. you can get that up to $36,000...... |

37295...it includes destination. Rounding up to 38K is a bit unfair.
I think for 3K more the 2SS features could all be added in, but that might be pushing it. 4K more still puts the 2SS at 41,295. I don't think it would be higher than that.

I still think it's a good deal for the 1SS. You are getter a car with more power, lighter weight, handles better and quicker. Also includes more standard features than the 15 model. That's a win in my book. I'm still thinking the 2SS will come in at $39,700.

The bottom line is, Last year I found and purchased my 2013 ZL1 for $45,000 and think its twice the car the 2SS is. If I was buying now I would get a 2015 ZL1 when the October sales start. You will have twice the car for less money. and 580HP.
