No. Once they have you on record of using the $10.00 / 6 month deal, you will no longer eligible for it. At that point you will have to pay the $20.00 fee.

They just announced a new Save 10 program eff. Feb 1 that if you don't renew your pc/dealer membership you will still be eligible for a 10% discount. While not as good a deal it will help defray the cost of S&H. They will send you a magazine w/catalog 2x yr (apr & oct) and as long as you make at least one purchase every 15 months, you will remain in the Save 10 program. Of course you can always renew for 1 yr at the $20 rate anytime.

I think AMSOIL is a hoax. I am looking very hard but I can not find any reliable independant tests that show AMSOIL any better than MOBIL-1, Castrol Syntec, or Royal Purple.

On amsoil's homepage I saw some nonsense that Royal Purple will cause oil lines to clog because of the Moly in it. Absolute nonsense. We all know Royal Purple is not garbage.

I find no such garbage about RP on AMSOIL's home page. They may compare their products to competitors but I never seen them take potshots at competitors.

I have never seen AMSOIL in any controversy such as this Truth in Advertising: BP v. Royal Purple

AMSOIL has been producing synthetic oil since 1972, they did not recently jump on the synthetic oil bandwagon, they are the pioneer in automotive synthetics.

Amsoil is sold in pyramid scam fashion, why I don’t like it.
regardless of how good it is.

Like those vacuum cleaners [rainbow, Kerby], they are the best in the world but you can’t buy them in a store, only from a door to door salesmen in pyramid scam fashion.

If you need such a hi tech syn, mobile 1 or RP

Don’t feed the pyramid scam beast.

Those type of sales went out of popularity for a good reason.

I don't think Amsoil is a bad oil at all...it's probably one of the best out there, but as previous posts have indicated, why feed the pyramid scam when you can get an oil that is just as good, if not better, off the shelf at Wal-Mart?

Woops. Read me carefully, I never said anything bad about AMSOIL. I'm sure its fine!

But is there a single test anywhere to indicate one full sythetic oil is better than another? Or should I buy Walmart's "Super-Tech" fully synthetic blend, cheap as can be?

Quite honestly, oil acts differently in different applications and different operation conditions. There is no "Best Oil"...it doesn't exist. They are all good, and because of that your choice of oil really should come down to convenience and price.

The Walmart "Super-Tech" is a great synthetic oil for the price! BITOG shows great results on UOA's with it, too.

Well member walmart don't make anything, a name brand company does and let them sell it for less to cover all their bets.

Better to get both side of the market and not just one.

Like the dog food n peanutbutter recalls, the name brands n cheap brand were all made on the same line. Just different packaging and prices.

last I heard supertech was castrol

I use to use superflow way back when, made by exxon which is mobile1.

What I gathered here is I am buying the cheapest full synthetic oil I can ever find, or whatever my local garage feels like using.

is it just me or is my oil life declining rapidly with AMSOIL than Mobile 1? Changed oil on Feb 5th, put 600 miles so far and reading 92%.
