5th gen convertible zl1 vs 5th gen ss.
So a guy that got a auto vert zl1 just dyno 700rwhp at 5800rpm and tq was close to 700 at 4700 thinks his car is the shit now before it only went 7.79 at 92 in the 1/8 lol.any who wants to race me mines a cammed stalled auto 3200 stall tsp 235 239 cam 2inch headers and car weights 3750 with back seats out and I weight like 110lbs that from a dig he will blow my doors off. What is yalls thoughts? Me personally I don't think so right off the top zl1 vert vs ss weight is 516lbs my car last on dyno with low timing went 461 at 6500 and tq was 421 at 5400 my car hasn't been on the dyno again since more up grades I'm still on stock heads too. My car went 7.4 at 95

700rwhp is a lot to make up, regardless of a 500lb difference.
On a side note, are you related to the Camaro show? |

Only way that you win will be if he doesn't know what the hell he is doing and if he has bald tires.

I'm a heavy ZL1 'vert and I was running 10.8 with 600RWHP. If he really puts down 700RWHP, you're in for a rude awakening.

you're out gunned man. A dig is your ONLY option if you know how to 60 ft and you do not spin, if you straight tree him your ok. If you go from a roll he will straight steam roll you. LSA pulls extremely hard.

Traction will dictate this race in the 1/8th and the 1/4. If you or him cant put the power down, races from a dig will be pointless. Drag radials will be essential.

Line up and run him. You do have weight advantage and if you can dead hook like you claim you may get the jump. Now its a matter if holding him off.......dont lusten to these guys telling you not to do it........its alot if fun either way plus it gives you an idea how your car stacks up against others in that power range. Just do it.....and record it as well.Your in tough but who cares........if its just for fun what do you have to lose?

7.79 in the 1/8 is pretty quick. You will need to be within 100 HP to have a chance.

Race him. But go into it knowing you have a very bad disadvantage as far as power is concerned. With that said, I have raced many cars that had more hp than me but no traction, street tires instead of DRs, and/or not enough suspension for the power they had. I went into it know all this and in those situations I have never lost. So if he is mismatched in hp vs suspension/tires then that is enough to shift the win in your direction even with a roll on. Because he is gonna spin and you'll take off. But if he has the suspension and tires and driving skill to match that power, then you might just have to listen to his arrogance and trash talking bro.
