I really like the stripes going all the way down the bumper. that's extremely tempting to do...(runs off to picture stripes on car)

mustang stripes. This car looks like it's easier to replicate on an assembly line than the 2009 pace car. I would bet a replica will be available for purchase.

I would like the grille better if it didn't have the pieces covering the turn signals. If it just stopped at the inner edges of the turn signals leaving the lenses uncovered, it would look better. MUCH better than the stock grille.

And if the openings on the bottom grillework better matched the upper ones, that should be the new stock grille.

...Because they are? They're traditionally called "Shelby Stripes," but are most commonly associated with the Mustang. Stripes that wrap entirely around the car were first put on the Shelby Mustangs and AC Cobra Daytonas in '65, and Shelby later used the same stripes on the Viper. Chevy's Rally Stripes have always been hood and trunk only. I hope they're vinyl so you can pull up all the ones that are in the wrong place!

I've said it here more than once that the only thing I don't like about my Camaro is the waffle grille. I'm not big on mods but I may change my SS grille to this one if it becomes available. Maybe add that 2 tone dash insert also.

They do that to give it a closer look to the origional 69 RS grill where there were 3 slots in the headlight doors.. That is why it's called the HERITAGE GRILL

It is good to see this project is now public. Especially since I am a fan of the Heritage Grille.

Surprised they did not make it a convertible! Especially since they are going to show the pre-production convertible at the Detroit show. It would seem that if they are interested in generating some Camaro convertible interest by bringing it to a car show they would also want to use the Indy 500 to show it off in convertible form. Oft times the Indy 500 pace car is used to showcase a particular new model of note. last year, the Camaro, because that was Chevy's newest car. This year it should have been a convertible as that's the newest version of the newest car! Maybe next year?

Yep, I would buy that grill in a heartbeat. And remove the excessive striping on the second heartbeat. Logo on the headrest is nice looking imo.

I wish they didn't characterize the car with stripes traditionally suited for Mustangs.

The stripes and all graphics, including 2010 Indy 500 logo on the door, are painted on all three of the actual track pace cars. The rumour is there will be 25 Festival cars as there were this year, and the graphics may differ on those (stock factory stripes?). The GM people in attendance would not confirm if there would be any replicas or how many though.

Interesting note though. Initially they only had a '69 pace car there as well, but at the last minute brought the '82 and '93 from the basement. I mentioned because of that they had us fooled as we expected that the car would be white with orange stripes. His comment to that was "Stay tuned,,,".
