whining engine noise with increase in rpm - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I wanted to put this issue out there to see if any other folks are experiencing the same potential problem. For the last few days I have been noticing a faint whining noise coming from the engine compartment. The noise gets stronger and louder as rpm's increase and fades away in the ambient noise at around 5k rpm. There does not seem to be a loss of power as far as I can tell. Does anybody else experience this issue? Just wanted to have some input before I possibly call the service department. Thanks.

Could it be a potential belt issue?

found out today that there is tsb issued on jan 13th for a faulty serpentine belt on v6 models produced before aug 09. new belt has a slightly different design and material. will know more in a few days when the part arrives at the dealer.
