Paint Quality on '10 Camaro?

Seriously looking at ordering 2SS RT black-on-black. Wondering what people who have already received their '10 Camaro think of the paint quality overall. Would you rate as superb, good, average....? Hopefully not "poor." I've seen one in the showroom and it looked great. Anyone had problems with the paint chipping away early on or more than it should? Thanks!

I rate it as good. Had to install stripes today and do a little water sanding to get a little trash out of it.

Mine looks great. There were complaints about orange peel, but I noticed A LOT more orange peel in a BMW that I saw in the parking lot at work than I saw in my car. It was very minimal in mine.

These are mass-produced cars, not custom-built hotrods by Chip Foose. All production cars have some orange peel...unless its a Rolls Royce! Paint quality on the cars I have seen looks good.

I have had my car for a week now and I love the paint job. CGM and no chips or defects that I can tell.

For a production paint job, I would rate it as good. I would rate Jaguar paint jobs as the best for production cars (even though the car itself is a pile of shit).

Does anybody have a paint measurer? I dont remember what its called but it measures the depth of the paint.

At least these arent Aussie cars. The GM Holden products have VERY VERY VERY thin paint.

I agree. And with that in mind, I was quite pleasantly surprised with how little I actually noticed in mine. Like I said, MUCH LESS than what I saw in a BMW that those who complain want to compare paint qualities to.
My car was delivered looking great, and I'm sure a couple coats of Zaino will have it more than car-show ready.

Got my car two days ago and have washed it twice (got caught in thunderstorm). Silver Ice paint is absolutely flawless. I was worried that the paint might have some problems based on issues reported on this forum; man, I am so relieved.

Too much orange peel!!!!

JUST KIDDING!!
(sorry, thats a joke from the Corvette Forum)

I think the CTF cars had great paint jobs. But I have no dog in this hunt. Just wanted to interject some humor.

Really, My GTO seem fine with no paint issues. Amazing color pop as well.

It is called a Dry Film Thickness Guage (DFT) it will tell you how thick the paint is in mils (millionths of an inch)
