Dealer Installed Exhaust = GMPP???

I just ordered the wife a white 2SS with black stripes and I'm thinking about having the dealer install the exhaust system that they list in the catalog on the show room floor. Does anyone know if this is likely the GMPP exhaust? The dealer charges $997 if that helps.

I'm new to the forum BTW. So far, it looks like a good one.

I'm no expert but from what I've heard it's no better than the stock. Maybe someone with more insight can elaborate.

Most likely. I would avoid it since you will most likely not get your moneys worth.

I have heard they are Borla. Slightly louder than stock.

These are an axle back system, for the same amount you can get the FlowMaster 3" American Thunder catback system. It all depends on how much growl you want your car to have.

Congrats on buying your wife an AWESOME car!!! I say skip the GMPP and go aftermarket. You'll find that there are plenty of options available, and one that will certainly fit exactly what she's looking for.

Welcome to Camaro5!!!

She likes a lot of growl. She loves the way a C6Z sounds. I'm guessing the Flowmaster you mentioned might sound as good or even better?

It is amazing how much performance you get per dollar with GM vehicles. I'm going to put her through some driving schools as well. My dream is for both us to get serious about roadracing.

Ok, I found a sound clip of the FlowMaster 3" American Thunder catback system and that's exactly what I'm looking for (really nice price as well). So would I have any warranty issues by installing myself?

Dude, you can get a SOLO Mach for a little over 700. It's a full cat back. Easy to install on a couple of ramps, and about 30 minutes to 1 hour. That's what I did... Do a search for Solo Performance Exhaust. Best value in my opinion.

Most dealers shouldn't have a problem with exhaust as long as it's cat or axle back. Just to be on the safe side just ask your sales guy at the dealer. Once you start going headers and tune you will run into problems. Also don't forget to keep all the stuff you take off, you can always rehang it if you need to...
