You can say that again. Did they really expect to raise my rates by $1400.00 for the year and I would just pay it?

All I did was change one of my vehicles from an 03 CTS to a 2012 Camaro SS. The worst part was that they raised the rate on my other car the 08 pathfinder by about $354.00 every six months and I made zero changes to the coverage on that car WTF. They suck.

Geico was almost 50% cheaper, seriously?

It's almost like they didn't want my money anymore. No DUI's, no tickets, 1 accident 4 years ago, no other accidents in the 16 years I've been with them and they try and screw me.

I have progressive. When i traded in my '06 charger r/t on the '11 camaro ss, my premium actually went down about $18 /month. You need to shop around and see if you can get better rates elsewhere. The amount they wanted to increase you by is more than i pay for my policy and i have a truck, van, and a travel trailer along with the camaro.

I pay about $500/year with State Farm..full coverage including roadside assistance...500 deductible. But then again, I have all my cars with them and my houses so they treat me fairly.

Adding my Car didn't affect my rates much

.....my premium after adding my 16 year old to the policy was a different story.

Get used to the rates going up on our Camaro's at every insurance company.

The more idiots out there that are driving them like race cars, the more these companies take notice and raise the premiums.

I ran into that situation with All State last year when I got my '11 2LT. I have been with aarp/*********** for 6 years now. When I got the Camaro, just to satisfy my curiosity. I got bids from 6-10 insurance companies....Geico....nationwide......usaa, and on and on!! I pay $1320 for a full year with *********** for my Camaro & my wifes '10 Fushion. I got a quote from All State for $2650.........FOR 6 MONTHS!!!!!!! That's $5300 for a year!!!...I figured they must have made a mistake somewhere, so I called them to refigure...and the guy came back & said " WOW, glad you called...it should only be $2450.....FOR 6 months!!!!....Well that is my experience with AllState!!!!

I feel your pain, ALLSTATE tried to DOUBLE my rate with my V6 camaro. I went with Erie Ins. who is now charging me LESS for my camaro then allstate was for my Camry!! I felt throughly ripped off for the last 13 years I was with them. But my fault for not shopping around.

WOW OP

I pay $660.00 a year with Allstate for my SS.

I have 4 other cars with them as well as the house etc.

There is a pretty good discount for "Bundling" but jeez that alot.

It varies greatly from state to state I hear.

I pay $816 a year, full coverage, $500 deductible (w/ rewards so I only pay $200 deductible) with vehicle replacement, roadside assistance.
Clean record.
House and another vehicle on my policy.

Many personal factors, risk, age, fico score and so on are considered while underwriters are setting premiums. Policy coverage, limits and deductable levels play a major factor. Discounts are available and may apply for muti car, having your home owners and business or professional insurances with a particular company. The number of drivers, their age and driving experience and history in the household. The year, make and model of the vehicles, your driving record, how long you've been with a company with-out claim history, ie. In addition statistcal information (area accident rating) regarding your locale, city, county state. The economy is poor, margins are thin and we all need insurance...........what to do?

Oh! My deductable is a mere $50. :-) The premium for the SS roughly $500 annually.............all the bells and whistle's with upper limits.

The third-quarter net loss of $923 million, or $1.71 a share, compares with a profit of $978 million a year earlier, the Northbrook, Illinois-based company said in a statement today. The loss excluding declines in the value of some holdings was 35 cents a share, missing by $1.03 the average estimate of 19 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg.

Gee, I wonder why your rates are higher. Previous quarter loss was like $620M.
