These photos are from the Chevrolet Performance display at PRI. The ZL1 diff is installed in a SS vehicle and sub-frame.

My picture won't load for some reason, but you would have to cut the 3 mounting points for your diff. move them and reweld them to accomidate the larger center section. Yes there is room. Just didn't want a modified cradle in my car.

I think that GM may have re-tooled a few things in order to make this work as a direct bolt in? I think only the GM engineers at this point could give out the answers until the bolt in kits start shipping out

Scratch that, I looked up all the part numbers and everything is already in production with the exception of the installation instructions

That would be great if they did but don't think they are going to say anything. I've already talked to driveshaft shop and gforce and they can make everything to work the stock ss hubs and trans. I'm just looking for the diff to work. I can user my brothers gm discount to buy the diff.

Jason P if you could get the pics to work, I'm sure we would all love to see them.

So I can buy the ZL1 kit and have no other issues, other then what is mentioned?
Any relocating tips or parts/dimensions to bolt the diff in, like brackets etc. for the relocation, or do I have to fabricate my own?
I'd rather keep my SS sub frame unless the ZL1 cradle isn't to pricey an if it has any other benefits. I want to order the ZL1 lower control arms also and a ZL1 PHADT sway bar, much better design, (too much leverage on the sway bar linked almost in the middle of the control arm on the SS's), would improve roll and be better for the strip, the whole reason for this upgrade let alone some boost on it's way!

Thats the question I'm after also, is the ZL1 sub frame needed or not. It's about $350 or so from partstaxi.com I think. Why spend the $350 if it's not needed, this is supposed to be a bolt in kit. We need to get pics of the ZL1 diff in the ss cradle to show why it doesn't fit.

Bad idea.We havethe proper part now for the manual guys, auto guys are shit outta luck for now.

The driveshaft rubber coupler has alignment hollow dowels for a reason, they locate the coupler and take all the load. You do not want to rely on a drilled out flange with just the bolts taking all the force.

We have 20 units instock that are properly machined to do the job correctly.

Lower & upper control arms are the same but all the bolts to mount them are also larger.

If that's the ZL1 cradle how come it has an SS rear sway bar or did you use yours from the SS?
