OK, everyone the above pictures are of My car. I helped Ofer on his 2SS on Friday and yes we were using the books (manuels) and also making calls to the guys on the East Coast who were working on theirs as we were working on Ofer's car. The first time took alot longer then the second time and Yes before we started I was unsure if I wanted to tear My car apart for this. Well two (2) 50 Year Plus Guys did this. Again on the first care we were carefull as Hell to make sure that we did not screw up anything. On My car we used what we had learned the day before. The only difference was that My car was an automatic and because I have a Leather Boot around My gear shift (from DSV) Ofer had believed that I had a Manuel, and because we had troble removing the shifter nob (we could not get the set screw out). We were able to manuever the Center Console around the Gearshift. We laid everything out on the Garage Floor NEATLY, keeping everything together and organized. My car took alot less time then Ofer's car, but again at each step we double checked what we had done to make sure that nothing was forgotten. Now I had about a 3.5 hour drive home from Ofer's place and I played around with all the different features on the HUD and also had to completely reset My car. The BEST thing I can say is that GM/Chevy SHOULD have put this HUD Unit in the car from the START, and EVERYTHING is set up for it both in the structure of the car and in the Software. I LOVE THIS FEATURE and for all of the NAYSAYERS out there who say it is not worth it or other things like the display is Blurry. First off CLEAN YOUR WINDSHILD and Second grow some BALLS and take the RISK, and do it the RIGHT WAY. Also, if YOU do not like the feature KEEP IT TO YOURSELF or as the OLD SAYING GOES "IF YOU DO NOT HAVE SOMETHING NICE TO SAY, DO NOT SAY ANYTHING AT ALL."

Walt B.

P.S. Ofer Thank You Very Much For Helping Me With My Car, Both Installing The HUD Unit And Adjusting/Tweeking My ABL.

Walt.

Well darn. With each update that I saw from you guys I could feel the likelihood of my completing this slipping away. I am determined to have it done though, so I guess I'll just have to look around for a shop that can do this locally.

Dont let the pics scare you. I am 44 years old and was able to do this job by myself over 2 days.JUst needed a hand removing dash pad from car. All you need is time, a torx set and phillips head screw driver, Oh and the balls to cut up your dash. Take the dash apart in sections and bag your screws for each part. If you got the time and can turn a screw driver your gold.

You have to re-index your windows, relearn tire pressure (4), reset date and time, reset your AM/FM/Sat Radio stations. Cell phone and Homelink I did not have to rest, mainly it seeemed like I had to reset all the personal settings, and this is because of disconnecting the battery, not from actually installing the HUD. Again this MOD is worth all the timde and effort, and it was worth the money, time, and the drive to get it done and I would do it again without any second thoughts. It is not worth trading in your car to get this feature, it is more worth it to keep the car You LOVE and ADD this Feature.

Number 5 is done, so now we have 2 from NJ and 1 from CA and 2 from AZ. Thank you for building the harness Ofer, and thank you Patrick for getting us the parts. Brother got here about 11 so about 3 and 1/2 hours to put it back together. Only had to reindex windows and reset time and date. All radio stations were still there.

Hi, the connector has two part's too it, If you look close you will see that the top will come up, that is the lock that holds it place, After that you can put a small flat screwdriver under and it comes up.

Here is a picture with the locks in the unlock position.

The passenger side airbag has a lock also, here is a picture of the connector in the unlocked position. When you lying on your back looking up through the glove compartment, you will see this connector mounted to the underside of the dash pad.

These should be the only three connectors that have the extra lock on them.
