Question Purchase advice

First post here, so if I mess something up, please forgive me.

I currently own a 1991 RS with a 5.7L and a 1998 Z28. I am now looking to buy a 5th gen. I had one picked out, and the dealer was going to transfer it in, but now they want me to think about one that was traded in Friday night.

1 - 2011 red convertible 2SS with RS package. 21k miles. All stock. (This was my original choice)

2 - 2012 burgundy hardtop 2SS with RS package. 17k miles. Alpine INE-Z928HD 8" navigation deck with Scosche kit. 24" rims.

Just looking for opinions. I know about the mechanical and interior differences in the two and that the final choice is mine since I will be paying for it. Thanks for reading and replying if you feel the need.

New option, since they are delaying this, I have continued to look. I have now come across this one which I like better than the 1st.

2011 red convertible 2SS with RS package. 7500 miles. Factory ground effects package.

I would go with your first choice... I think those rims are awful on the second Camaro. Go with what you want though, your the one making the payment every month so make sure your happy with what your choose.

Personally, I hate the rims too. I know I can always replace them. They are offering the 2012 for the same price as the 2011. They were looking at replacing the rims, but said that would not be possible with the price I am getting.

I agree, first choice, who knows how the 2nd was treated from what's done to it, and the tire prices to replace will probably break you.

I can get a set of the factory rims for 850, but that is not counting the rubber.

FYI....there were lots of problems with the tops on the 2011 convertibles.

24 inch rims! No don't do it! The 20's on the RS are big enough and make the ride real stiff. In a 24 you won't be able to dive it comfortably. Not to mention the cost of replacement.
You wanted a ragtop, stick to your guns. He pushing the modded car. Because it'll be harder for him to move..

Do you have a link for any? This is part of why I wanted to post here. The more info, the better.

As I mentioned, I hate the rims. Nice design, but too big. I wouldn't dream of going larger than a 21". However, that opinion is based on what I have seen with the factory/dealer options.

I like either 1 or 3 not two. 35.000 for 1 is too much for an 2011, IMO, they can work with you on price it its a dealer.

Keep in mind, those 24 inch rims and tires were very expensive....and might be worth something if you sell them. The rims alone shouldn't exclude the car.
