Coyote engine Premium
The 2010 Ford SVT Raptor with a 5.4L engine will set you back $38.9
However.... The 2011 Ford SVT Raptor with the 6.2L Coyote engine (which will also be used in the mustang) will set you back $41.9... so a 3k premium. We might be looking at the premium which will be charged for the new engine in the 2011 Mustang. Just saying. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ive/specs.html Last edited by Zeus; 10-21-2009 at 09:04 PM. |

the premium for the Mustang could be less since it will only be 5.0 L
i hope there isnt a massive price increase because i really want the track pack. (if i prefer it over the camaro) |

Doubtful. Every source that's reliable on other forums is indicating that the price increase for the 2010 Mustang covers the new engines (so the people who bought the 2010 Mustang basically got a huge shaft).
Plus, the 6.2 is a very different engine from the 5.0. |

No, as of right now the 6.2L Hurricane is exclusively a SOHC, cast iron block engine that will be exclusive to the truck lineup. Rumors have indicated that Ford is still considering using this engine to produce a sort of SVT/Shelby specific, all aluminum, high performance DOHC piece in the same manner that AMG has their own, bespoke V8 right now....but if it happens it wont be for a while yet.
The 5.0L Coyote is a much smaller engine design than the 6.2L Boss...think small block versus big block. |

Yes, hard to find a Raptor at a normal price. I got a chance to "mess" with one where I picked up the Wolf. Amazing truck. I have never been a performance truck guy...but dam that truck could make me change my mind..
