Thank you guys..the tech didnt even bring up the idea of rotating them side to side..ill bring it to a different dealership next time..anyway I bought the Genesis Coupe for my fiancé...I love it and I love the 10 year warranty Hyundai offers, however I cant pass up the Camaro for it

How were the tires on your '10 1LT the same size as your 2LT/RS? The 1LT non RS tires are all season 18's. RS gives you summer only 20x8's up front and 20x9's in the rear.

How many miles do you have on them now? I haven't been able to get more than 15k out of the pirellis, so I swapped out for some Nittos about 2k ago.

He's saying that on the 1LT all 4 wheels were 1 size and could be rotated. On the RS he wasn't aware that the back tires wider so they can't rotate front to back

I think he means all 4 tires on his 1lt were the same size. (front and back)

Ah, I see. That's the trouble with the internet, if you don't specifically describe what you're posting (talking about), people easily misunderstand what you're trying to say.

Hahaha...I am sure the OP is referring to the 4 tires on the 1LT were all the same size...not the same size of the 2LT/RS hence the not knowing that the tires could not be rotated front to back and back to front. Silly grammar gets you every time doesn't it?

Did not know this was needed... the DIC has an option to relearn the TPMS in each tire... and there even is a process for doing it. I helped a friend out when he got a new set of wheels. Done with no tool needed...

Depends on the year/model......I know can't do this on newer, 2013 models.

Here is a link to the TPMS re-learn tool:

https://gmspecialservicetools.spx.com/ToolDetails.aspx?id=5677

(Kent-Moore EL-50448 TPMS Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor Activation Tool)

I have also seen this on Amazon a little cheaper, ~$60.00)

That's true, but the factory RS tires (at least the Pirellis) are non-directional. There is no arrow on the sidewall indicating direction of rotation.

The factory RS wheels/tires are non-directional. If it were my car, I would go back and insist that they follow the GM recommendation to rotate the tires at the proper intervals.

"If the vehicle has non-directional tires, they should be rotated every 12 000 km/7,500 mi. See Maintenance Schedule on page 112. Tires are rotated to achieve a uniform wear for all tires. The first rotation is the most important."
im sorry but I work at a dealership, and youre wrong. We are instructed by those above us to NOT rotate the tires that way. Whether they should be or not is not the issue. I guess I just take offense to you calling the tech an idiot when he was probably told to do exactly what he did. Just saying. The tech isn't an idiot. The dealership is.
