Update on Setup

Car is running goooooood!

WOT AFR is 11.1 to 11.3, perfect for my gauge calibrated at 14.2 stoich and 10% ethanol. MSD BAP is installed and I assume working perfect. Haven't datalogged yet since the BAP install.

Seeing 12.2 psi boost on a 63 degree day on my gauge. LT headers, no cats, stock L99 cam.

Power and throttle response-crispness is amazing. If I hit wot at about 8 mph it back shifts to 1st and spins almost before my foot even makes it to the floor. Then it shifts to 2nd and to 3rd all the while murdering the tires. You don't need high Rpms to spin up a centri like everyone says. You pulley it to spin up. The impeller doesn't care what the engine Rpms are. GOBS of low end power. I'm sure the stock cam and 2800 stall is helping that a lot.

Spark plugs (brisk 12's) seemed to have cleared up the part throttle slight miss at cruise.

Going to try a 40 shot with 3 degrees of retard, dial it in, and go from there.

Need drag radials, saving money now.

Absolutely! I used to take my vette a few times a year and plan on the same with this car. Ill likely hold off till I get the Nittos. Track is almost a 1.5 hour drive from my house and I drive the car to it.

Brisk spark plugs (GR12S). 12 is the heat range, similar to an NGK8 heat range. Brisk 14 would be like an NGK7 and would be best, if I wasn't planning on spraying it.

It's too bad you can't race at vicars that used to be tipton airport. Years ago when I flew in to tipton on a Sunday, I had to circle while they held up the drags for me to land and after I taxied off the runway they continued racing.

Yes that is long gone. They did flashlight drags at a few local airstrips a few years ago but that stopped now too. Being a drop top with boost and spray there aren't many places to run. I won't Put in a cage because there is too much of a chance of being in a wreck on the street and a head hitting the bar.

Did you live in or near here?

Hoping to get a low 11 timeslip on 12psi and a high 10 timeslip on the spray.

I think you're the first person on here that is actually under estimating what it will do. Which is smart. Everyone else with a blower thinks they have a 9 second car!!!

On 12psi you should be good for low 11s maybe high 10s with out the spray. good luck

Not ever one when I first put the blower on was looking for mid 11s. That were I started and worked my way down to high 10s. With some suspension work maybe mid 10s.

Figuring out how much to spray without blowing it up will be the question. I'm thinking I can go up to a 75 shot, possibly a 100 shot. That all depends on the fueling. I will be data logging and working up slowly so if I find the fuel system limit Ill back it down some and leave it alone.

Yeah, you are right, I see that a lot. I just smile and keep my comments to myself.

Sounds like a gd plan. We are doing the same thing. We're still on a 55 shot and dealing with traction issues. Have been for the last 25 passes. Once I get to the point where I feel it's maxed out with that shot Ill bump it up a little and check the logs. It's turning out to be a slow process.
