Of course not. GM said unlike the Challenger, all of the Camaros will be released at the same time- after all bringing out the SRT's first really sucked. Chevy wouldn't want to be caught in that, either.

Agreed, that is not the debate at hand. It was the release of both the V6 And V8 at the same time. |

Watch the newsstands for the January issue of Pontiac High Performance magazine available October 21st. The very first G8 imported into the USA, Serial #001, is a six cylinder. There is a performance evaluation of a box stock six to a Pedderised 6. The Camaro has a few tweaks with the ZETA II suspension and will be a bit better in some areas. The six cylinder Camaro will be a better car than most think or expect.

We are going to build both V6 and V8 models at startup -- |

i would imagine that the SS will be out at release. The V6 will likely be there along side the SS. However, if the V6 is out ahead of the SS I would imagine it will be a matter of weeks not months before the SS is available.

I guess, in theory, a V6 could roll off the line before a V8 at the plant, making the V6 the first Camaro. I'm not worried.

Someone probably read that historicly the six has always been the bigger seller when it comes to Camaro and made up a story to match their assumption they made since gas prices are where they are.... As Fbod said

Guys, dealers know the V8 will be high demand. I am going to make a speculation, the statement you are about to read is merely MY opinion, not necessarily yours.
SPECULATION: They (some) are trying to convey an artificially low supply, therefore increased profits on "dealer" markup. The consumer will think "I better buy it at whatever price, the dealer was lucky to get this one therefore I better get it". This is one of the reasons people don't like car salesmen. |
