I do know people that don't like to talk to the OnStar people, I don't know why so don't ask me.

You can send directions from Google maps on your phone or from your PC/Mac.Yes your account will have to be active to do this.

OnStar can remote start, lock, unlock or activate the alarm of your car from a Phone app, OnStar web site or you call OnStar and give them your account info.

OnStar can locate your car if stolen (as long as it has not been disabled). They can perform a remote kill on the car if you need it also.

Traffic, stock and weather updates on demand. It also works as a phone.

Having it will also lower your insurance.

I now relinquish the soap box.

For some strange reason I like looking a nav map in real time so I just use the Google Nav app with the satellite view on my smartphone, lol. I just want to get some type of mount for the phone to sit in front of the shifter where the gauges would go (I don't have the gauges).

Ram makes multiple mounts for multiple platforms. I have one that I use with my iPhone as a dashcam

I have an iPhone 4. I downloaded the Gokivo GPS app. I just use the Bluetooth GM Music Connect on it, as you would do to listen to music on your iPhone via Bluetooth. It's great. I can play music from my iPhone, and if I have the Gokivo GPS going, it will automatically turn down the music for the voice to give me the directions. It is every bit as good as Onstar, at a tiny fraction of the cost.

I believe that the 2013 will have a full navigation system that will display in the radio touch screen along with the backup camera.

I guess I will be upgrading My stereo when it comes out. I just feel bad for all the guys that just put in the after market HUDs, you just got your dash back in.

not everyone is into the new stereo. I for one would rather stick to an old unlaminated and falling apart paper map before having that thing installed in my car much less buying a car with it in it. GM made me love my 2012 so much when they announced the "standard" '13 specs. ill happily pay onstar $300 a year if it keeps that abomination away from my car.
